So I realize that my blog is mostly about my adventures with yarn, BUT with a baby on the way (10 weeks along!)---she kind of takes up a lot of my thoughts and time (don’t know the sex yet, but we call her a ‘she’). Of course I have a lot of patterns I want to do, like a ton. I found this one adorable rainbow mobile and all these cute little hats with matching booties.

I just
haven’t had time to sit and sift my fingers through skeins of yarn,
unfortunately. AND it’s exactly what I’m supposed to be doing when pregnant, right??
Relaxing after a long working day (and I do mean l______________ong) with a
tray of food and something soothing and comforting to lull me into a sleepy
state? Sounds good to me.
Any who—The
room that is going to be a nursery was originally decked out in wallpaper on
all but one of the walls and is very old. I’m having the hardest time stripping
the glue backing off the walls. I’ve tried vinegar, fabric softener and finally
settled with DIF, an actual wallpaper stripper. It works OK for the most part,
but whoever put the wallpaper on the walls, applied it directly to the drywall—so
now I have a ton of holes to patch up along the way (which means sanding).
Yuck.
I mean,
come on now, really?? Is that something that’s actually practiced nowadays???
It’s infuriating—but I’ll be gritting my teeth this weekend to get the rest of
it done and a primer painted, after all the damn sanding of course.
I wanted
to share a couple pictures of this nursery that I found and am convinced has to
be done for ours, I’m just not artistically inclined to do it myself. So, long
story long…here’s what I’ve found online (I believe it's by Chicago Art)
