Another Pinterest find gone perfectly!

My step father has a sweet tooth the size of mine, so I went out and bought a bunch of snack size candy and packaged it in a brown paper bag.

Get it? I hope he likes it, if not, this is one gift I wouldn't mind getting back!

On the Warren Front:

Being a mother gets easier and easier every day, while being a working mother gets harder. We had a great time last night just hanging out and enjoying each other’s company. We put toys away and pulled them back out; I finally did get to see him roll from his tummy to his back (he is also getting more control over sitting up by his self without flopping forward to eat the carpet or his toes); he played in the kitchen with some toys and a grill brush – he really liked the texture of the brush – while I cleaned and cooked.
When Daddy got home we played some more still. We discovered that he likes to be under the covers like a tent. All three of us where under the covers and he was just amazed at the sheet above him; just giggling and looking in awe. Maybe because it reminded him of the womb? All in all, a wonderful night.

Last Night’s Schedule

Bed @ 2
Binky @ 330-4 (He was still asleep, but fussing in his sleep)
*He got more sleep than I did. I kept waking up; first because I was engorged and soaked, then just because I was engorged. I need to maintain the habit of pumping after I feed him if he doesn’t eat evenly on both sides in the middle of the night.

On the Crochet Front:

I wanted to make a tissue cozy for my desk at work and knew of one I had previous found that was of a funny looking monster. While I was browsing for it I found another one that I absolutely fell for and thought I could manage (since there was no pattern and I wasn’t going to pay $45+ for one)…here’s how it turned out!
This one is going to be mailed to my Uncle for a birthday present for my grandmother, so I’ve got to make myself another one.
I have two commissioned pieces left to make that I really want to back out of because I am now on the Craft Bazaar bender!! But money is money and I need the extra where I can get it. So, a pink lion and a rose colored shawl are next on my list. Oh, after I finish Haley’s purse of course – oops, forgot about that. I just have to finish the straps, line it and initial it and it’ll be done. OH, one more thing! Crap, I ordered cabone rings to make several nursing necklaces for myself, those may be popular with all my nursing friends too.
Hmmm…so here’s the compiled list
  • Haley’s Purse
  • Pink Lion
  • Rose Shawl
  • Another tissue cozee
  • Nursing Necklace
Wonder how long it’ll take for these to get done. ::sigh::

ALSO>>>>
I have a selection picked out for the craft bazaar...I'm going to make a new post on that.
One of the very first creations I didn't need a pattern for!

I may get around to writing one up since this may be a popular item that I'll be making a lot of.

One of my major hang ups about being a working mother is that I’m going to miss a lot of Warren’s firsts. Tuesday, he rolled over for the FIRST time and I missed it (from tummy to back). I have so many feelings about this, mostly joyful ones, but this experience of being a working mother is very, very bittersweet.
Linda did try to capture it on camera for me, but seemed late every time (which is ok). I know he’ll do it again and again and I’ll be tickled pink! But what’s next that I’m going to miss? Crawling? Sitting up by his self? His first word???? <That one will kill me if I miss it…I’ll be in a state of depression for a day or so.
I need to start documenting, somehow. A baby book at first then eventually morphed into a more personalized scrapbook. Time is precious now, even more so that he’s changing so rapidly!!

He had a hard time going to sleep after 5; he wanted to talk and play with his toes, so I let him play for about 15-20 minutes in his crib then brought him to lay next to me in bed. I figured he'd do the same, but instead we traded sleepy looks while I played with his toes and tickled and talked him-eventually we both drifted off and I woke up 40 minutes later...he however, was still sleeping away...
